The Presidential Dollar edge lettering design is being changed for coins minted in 2009 and onward. The motto IN GOD WE TRUST formerly appeared on the edge, but it has now been moved to the obverse side of the coin. To fill out the design in place of the motto, the Mint has added 13 stars and moved things around a little bit. See the new edge lettering design for 2009 on this page.
