Snowdon Aviary, London Zoo - Photo of Snowdon Aviary at London Zoo
The Aviary was built in 1962-4, at the same time as the building that is now Zoo World. The aviary looks almost weightless and has an aluminum frame and cables with a giant net stretched across. It was designed by Lord Snowdon, the husband of Princess Margaret, the Queen's sister.Behind the aviary, are some vending machines and benches so this can be a peaceful place to rest for a while.
