Reviews of Chocolate Graham Toffee Bark
I was looking for an easy, quick recipe using graham crackers, because mine were getting a little long in the tooth and I wanted to use them up. Found this recipe via Google. It looked pretty easy, and I had nothing to lose by using up my old graham crackers. Had everything on hand, so I gave it a shot. Wow! Killer result. I did substitute roasted peanuts for the macademia nuts (cheaper and I already had them!). Now I'm keeping an eye on the adds for graham crackers when they have the BOGO sales because I get so many requests from family, friends, and ugh...the office. I'll be giving these for Xmas presents fer shure. I probably won't share this recipe...for awhile anyways. I'm enjoying the star limelight too much right now! :) Thanks!

Reviews of Choco Chip Meltaway Cookies
This was one of two recipes I got from this site to make to send to a friend who is serving in Afghanistan. They turned out great coming out of the over -- very easy to make. They stay small and do not spread out -- so you can put more than usual on your cookie sheet. I'll let you know if they make it in one piece overseas. I'll make another batch for myself.

Reviews of Non-alcoholic Eggnog
It's delicious! My family all like it. I tripled the recipe and used medium-low heat, based on other reviewers' comments about how long it took. I stirred constantly and used a meat thermometer to monitor the temp. It took about 30 minutes. Strained through a sieve and only got a tiny bit of egg whites. Added more nutmeg than the recipe called for. Try it--you'll like it!

Reviews of Meatball Sliders Recipe
I took a tray of these to a church potluck, and they were a big hit. Everyone raved over them, and asked me to please bring them again. Needless to say, there were no leftovers. Though you couud certainly make your own meatballs, using the storebought frozen ones is what makes this recipe so fast to make. There is almost no work at all in preparing these, and they cook really fast. If you have the ingredients on hand, you could have these on the table in a flash. I'm having company for the Christmas holidays this week. I plan to make them, along with a pot of broccoli cheddar cheese soup one night.

Reviews of Super Fig Cobbler
I usually avoid recipes with more than one step, but this one was worth the effort it took this lazy cook. The spices were perfect and the cheddar cheese pastry was a wonderful accompaniment to the figs. I heartily recommend this recipe to everyone, but be sure you have plenty of figs on hand. Once your family tastes this, you will need to make another one, soon!

Reviews of Walnut-Glazed Brie
This recipe was different and very tasty. I even used my Kitchen Aid Toaster Oven. . Next time I would might take more of the crust off the edges of the cheese . I toasted the walnuts, then combined the rest of the glaze earlier. Just before ready to serve I finished the rest of the recipe to bake, then it was quick to serve.

Reviews of Cinnamon-Glazed Banana Cake
This was easy and turned out just like it was supposed to - moist, flavorful and perfectly comforting.

Reviews of Buttermilk Doughnuts
These are very good, easy to do, and makes alot. I made the dough one day, made the doughnuts the next. Idea- make just holes, then set up a fondue station for guests to custom-dip in toppings- worked for me...

Chocolate Chip Banana Cream Mini-Muffins Recipe
Chocolate Chip Banana Cream Recipe. Moist banana mini-muffins are stuffed with chocolate chips and baked with a sweet creamy topping. May also be made as a bundt cake.

Reviews of Dr Pepper BBQ Sauce
It had a good overall taste but it was more of a marinade than a sauce. I would have added another half cup of ketchup and halved the amount of onions. Unless of course you want to use it as a marinade. Then it was perfect

Reviews of Cherry Beer Cake
This cake was very good and moist. Just had to cook it a little longer. Didn't come out of my pan very nicely so I made a second batch of icing adding grenadine, to decorate cake's blemishes.

Reviews of Gluten-free Chocolate Brownies
These brownies were easy to whip up, although I used a different but similar all-purpose gluten free flour blend. I baked them in a glass 8x8 pan at 325 for 35 min. They were still uncooked at 20 min, but at 35 they were perfect. We are eating them before they've had a chance to cool completely. Not sure I'll be able to report on how well they hold up the next day....there won't be any left!

Reviews of Apple Cheese Bacon Cheesecake
I made this for a 4th of July party. It was the first to go. I served it with apple slices and various crackers as suggested. Very tasty and different. It goes into the keeper file for parties. Thanks! --cg

Reviews of Basque Oxtails
Good enough to makje you slap your grandma... and my grandma was tough!!!

Reviews of Micro Toasted Pumpkin Seeds
its easy and great to make. its salty and crunchy on the outside and soft and delisiouse on the inside, i would cook it again and again and again!

Reviews of Best Bloody Mary Mix
I made this on a Friday night. I was in the mood for something different. I found this recipe and thought I would give it a try. It is absolutely the best bloody mary I have ever had. The only thing I changed was, instead of lemon juice, I decided to use lime juice. Delicious! Try it!

Reviews of Chicken Noodle Soup
I love this recipe and how it is the perfect template for experimentation. First, I start by prepping twice as many carrots and celery as indicated in the recipe. Next, I add the onion and half of the carrots and celery to the stock-pot. I then add the chicken which I leave whole. This requires I use more liquid to cover it and thus more broth after it has cooked down so much. Next I discard all the veggies after removing the chicken and strain the broth through a cheesecloth. I then put the broth into a different pot where I use it to boil my noodles ( we prefer bow-ties). While the pasta cooks I wash the original stock-pot. I then remove the noodles to a bowl and toss with a very small amount of butter or olive oil to keep them from sticking to each other. The small amount of starch left behind in the stock lends a nice richness of body. To the clean original stock-pot I add a 2 tblsp. of butter and briefly saute' the remaining carrots and celery ( I also like to add a carton of clean, sliced white mushroom

Reviews of Beer Brats (Bratwurst)
I made these and they came out great. These will be made for this coming Superbowl Sunday. After the cooking is done, I will cut Brats in bite size pieces and use toothpicks and/or cocktail forks for picks.

Reviews of Easy Hungarian Goulash
A delicious, easy dinner. My husband and I ate in a local cafe a few months ago where they were featuring Hungarian Goulash as their special. He was so disappointed when it was served......it was noodles with tomato sauce and had very little taste. So I went online and found this recipe. It truly is a winner. He said it was even better than his mom used to make for him. Can't wait to serve it to guests. Make sure you add all the paprika and garlic!!!

Reviews of Easy Chicken Piccata
I mix up a bigger batch of the dry ingredients and keep them in a container for even quicker prep, as suggested. This is a tasty, quick dish and I make it often!

Reviews of Pot Roast with Vegetables
I was used to my mothers 'old fashioned' way of making pot roast. Throw a chuck roast in the crock pot, toss in a few veggies, pour a little water in the bottom- and for the finishing touch add a package of dry onion soup on top.. While good- and a fond memory of my childhood.. I was ready for something a little more modern and way more flavorful. THIS IS IT. Dare I say finger licking good. I have given this recipe to my mother and she loves it- and now on to my sister. The roast is very flavorful and the 'gravy' from the red wine, beef broth is, seriously, delicious. You may want to add a few more carrots and a few more potatoes.. but the recipe as is was great for me. Enjoy- you cant go wrong with this one!!

Reviews of Homemade Maraschino Cherries
This recipe took me back to my childhood in Atlanta, GA when my mother canned peaches each summer. It was a similar process, but like the cherries, the peaches were always worth waiting to enjoy on waffles, pancakes and upside down cakes.

Reviews of Tasty Turkey Chili
It was easy and delicious. I cut down a bit on the spices for the kids sake - 6 and 4 years old and they loved it!! I also suggest adding a bit of salt to the turkey. I will definately make it again.

Reviews of Chocolate Caramel Candy Bars
While it tasted delicious, it was too complicated with too many steps for what you got. Next time, I will use a brownie mix, chocolate chips and caramel ice cream topping - putting in 1/2 the batter and topping it with chips and caramel, then the rest of the brownie batter.

Reviews of Cappuccino Muffins
you should try to caramelize the coffee. just use 2 tsp of water, and 2 tsp of sugar in a saucepan till its dissolved, add with the wet ingredients.

Reviews of Baloney Sandwich Spread Recipe
If you grew up in the mid-west, this is the spread you remember from countless meetings, birthday parties, and church meals. Grind/chop in some stuffed green olives if your memory or tastebuds insist. Kids love it on white bread, adults should try it on rye.

Reviews of Country Oxtails Dinner
I would advise anyone to try this dish...it is superb! Thanks! ;-)

Reviews of Rock Candy
I had to cut the recipie in 1/2 because I didn't have enough jars. My son is in 2nd grade and we have been taking photos every step. How cool to have a science project that you can share, the only thing I felt I did wrong was add too much food coloring because it was hard to get an accurate photo. I'm going to take the advice and start :skimminng

Reviews of 40 Cloves of Garlic Chicken
This was my first clay pot recipe. It took about 15 mintues to prepare and 75 minutes to cook. The chicken was moist and very tasty. The vegies finished off this single dish dinner. The garlic was just fine, in fact next time I might add more cloves.

Reviews of Nine Bean Soup Mix
So the ingredients are economical and delicious. Also, I have a huge pot of soup, and 8 more kits ready to go. I'm excited to experiment with flavors without breaking the bank! I used pork tenderloin this time (what was in the fridge) and I think i'll do ham next time! thanks for an excellent recipe

Reviews of Graham Cracker Pie Crust
1/4 cup of butter IS 4 tablespoons. Add 2 tablespoons to that 4 as the recipe states and that makes 6 tablespoons. I thought it turned out great.

Reviews of Puff Pastry from Scratch
This was delicious and indeed not that hard to make. Only problem i had was that it doesn't include baking directions.

Reviews of Best Deviled Eggs
I made 2 dozen - making 48 of these puppies for an office party potluck. I got showered with compliments. One thing I would change is adding more mayo - my filling resembled molding clay with not enough water. I kept adding mayo until it was creamy. Filled the freezer bag and squirted em out all fancy. I'm trying Grey Poupon instead of the yellow mustard this 2nd batch. Good luck!

Reviews of Zucchini Bites
I was looking for a recipe to use up some zucchini. I had all of these ingredients on hand, so I gave it a try. It was very easy and fast to throw together. You wouldn't think this would be man-food, but the guys scarfed them up while watching the game. The previous reviewer must have done something wrong, because these came out fine for me even tho my bisquick was a little old. Will make again.

Reviews of Albondigas Soup
Had all ingrediants Came out great! meatballs ok.

Reviews of Easy Herb Biscuits
This was amazing from beginning to eating. I had guests for dinner the first time I tried it. I doubled the batch, opted for butter milk, and used fresh herbs from my wifes garden. I served the biscuits with home made spaghetti instead of the normal garlic or french bread. I went really well. One of my guests does not cook. After watching me make it, she remarked

Reviews of Sugar Free Fudge
I never have luck with fudge but figured this one was low carb and pretty simple. I burnt up my mixer making this!! It was too thick! Should it have milk or butter to help mix it??? I tried to add Hood low carb milk.....but by then it was too late. I'm not sure about this one.

Reviews of Figgy Pudding
Older recipes have less or no sugar (in this case molasses) and were topped with whipped cream for a sweeter taste. We thought this one hit the mark. It was a little drier than I remember my grandmother's bread puddings, but then again it has no lard which is a good thing for healthier eating. I would cut pieces small as it is quite heavy.

Reviews of Malibu Rum Cake
I made the Malibu rum cake for my family at Christmas last year and they loved it! I even fooled my Mom who will not eat

Reviews of Homemade Mayonnaise
I made this by hand (with a wire whisk). Worked great. I was a little concerned about how fast to add the oil because every recipe I've seen makes a big fuss about it. But it was fine! For the people who say theirs is too thin, make sure you beat everything well first, and just keep adding oil! It seems odd that more oil makes it thicker, but that's just how it works. It doesn't really come together until the end.

Reviews of Garlic Herb Prime Rib Roast
It's a family tradition to have prime rib the week-end before Christmas for those who will be elsewhere on the actual Christmas day. This year the raving started with the first bites and continue through the final good-by. The bake times and temperatures were perfect. Everything happened just as Peggy said it would. The au jus was wonderful. Thank you for sharing! Dennis, Sterling, CO

Reviews of Peppermint Candy Canes
This recipe turned out very well and was a fun project. My canes were very homemade looking, ie not all perfect and the red did not wrap perfectly around the white, (that was up to my lack of dexterity) but that made them seem all the more elegant. I think i will double the recipe because a lot is lost with sticking to the pans, gloves, walls etc.. These makes a great little gift. The candy tasted lovely.

Reviews of Banana Butter
Absolutely fabulous! I originally made 2 batches- although 3 cups of bananas are actually 7-8 bananas in my experience. We have used it on toast, peanut butter sandwiches, waffle topping and will experiment on ice cream the next time we buy that. Am going to try the next batch with plantains. I am planning on giving some away as Christmas gifts. Makes loads and everyone who has tasted it adores it!

Reviews of Key Lime White Choco Cookies
I love those key lime white chocolate cookies sold at the grocery store but they are very expencive. I tried this recipe twice. The flavor was good the first time but they didn't look like the picture. I liked the taste so I tried them again and this time I followed the directions EXACTLY. What a difference! The mixing and cooling time in the fridge info is very important. Duhhhhh! These are now a favorite in my family. Thank you

Reviews of Marshmallows
With a stand mixer these are so easy it is almost scary. Everyone who tastes them can't believe they are homemade because they are so tasty. They make the best krispy treats, my hubby loves them! He's always asking for more.

Reviews of Raspberry Chocolate Triangles
I love these cookies! I have made them for all sorts of family gatherings, potlucks, and parties, and they are always a HUGE hit - people always ask me for the recipe. The recipe can also be easily converted into a vegan dessert - simply use vegan chocolate chips and margarine rather than dairy. There's not even a difference in taste in the final product. Highly recommended!

Reviews of Refried Beans
I have been looking for a good recipe for refried beans for a while now. We all loved this one. You have to use dried beans, not canned because dried beans swell quite a lot while cooking. They have just the right amount of spice. They aren't bland, but they have enough flavor. They can be eaten on their own or in other dishes and the flavor is great. I do cut down on the oil by half in order to gut back on fat and I use a little of the bean broth while mashing to provide a nice texture. They also freeze and reheat quite well. I like to make a double batch and store them in 2 cup portions in the freezer. Use a 2 cup portion in any recipes that call for a can of refried beans.

Reviews of Peanut Butter & Jelly Cookies
I changed the recipe to nutty/chunky peanut butter and there was much more flavor as well as a great texture. This change brings it to a 5 star recipe. I also used blueberry, strawberry, blackberry jams and it they are great with tea or milk.

Reviews of Swedish Glogg
Hello Fellow Glogg Lovers! When I was a young lady gloggs were all the rage!! but now a days it's hard to find a good glogg. This recipe brings me back to the olden days!!!! I too serve gloggs to the children. Especially if theyre not falling asleep fast enough. Love and best wishes to All! Mother Lawrence xoxo

Reviews of Turkey Jerky Recipe
My wife and I have done a lot of 7 day plus long backpacking trips over the years. I made this Turkey Jerky for our ten day on-the-trail backpacking trip in Olympic National Park. We have always taken beef jerky in on past trips. But we learned the health benefits of turkey and decided to give Turkey Jerky a try. It is delicious! I thought turkey would be bland but this recipe has enough spices and flavorings in it to make it better than beef jerky! I'm adding it to my favorites!

Reviews of Marinated Ham & Swiss Buns
I took a real risk making these for the first time, to take to my boyfriend's family christmas party. Big hit!!!!

Reviews of Brownie Crackle-top Cookies Recipe
My son (who is in Iraq) loved these cookies, and my other son did too. I try to send different cookies because I like to try different recipes, but he wants these again. My daughter-in-law is making his next batch because she wants to taste them and please him. The only addition I made to them is I added chopped walnuts. They travel well because my sons said they tasted like they were just baked.

Reviews of Chicken Stroganoff
I would have given this 5 stars but I made some changes. I made it more of a one dish meal - I sprinkled the spices on the chicken breasts while cooking and then added the onion, garlic and mushrooms. After they were all done I added the liquids. I left out the butter and instead of heavy cream I used another 1/2 cup sour cream for a total of one cup. The dish came out great! Plus, I think the fat content was decreased by omitting the butter and cream. We will definitely make this again.

Reviews of Couscous Cranberry Pecan Salad
Easy-to-find ingredients that combine really nicely. The recipe says for four people but it's more like 6 or even 8, unless it's the only dish being served. We had tons left over after feeding five adults. Fairly easy to make, but I did find it took quite some time to prepare: toasting the pecans and preparing the cukes. It is also quite nice without the dressing, which can save prep time.

Reviews of Gingerbread House Cookies
This is some of the best gingerbread I've ever had. It comes out much softer than other recipes I've made and is very tasty . . . I sent some to school in my daughter's lunchbox, and the other kids raved. I accidentally skipped the step where you were supposed to cut it mid-baking, and cut it beforehand. I only realized that when I saw the review that mentioned that. It came out all right, cutting it before, but it would probably come out more even if I did it the way they said. The only criticism I have of this recipe is that I don't think it needed to be baked quite as long as they said, so check it, and that it wasn't as good for individual cookies (which we made with the extra) as for the big house.

Reviews of Cincinnati Chili
While the ingredients on this recipe seem ok. The ground beef in authentic Cincinnati Chili should NOT be browned. It should be broken up as finely as possible and simmered in the liquid until a smooth consistancy. Also no onions should be cooked in the chili because that ruins the consistancy. The important thing about Cincinnati chili is that it should be smooth not at all chunky. I simmer the meat in water first then drain and rince it to get ride of some of the fat. Then I start over adding all the other ingredients. But even that isn't authentic. Also note that the cheese for topping should be finely grated and raw onions for topping should be minced.

Reviews of 1950's-style Meatloaf Recipe
This winter I have been on a 'meatloaf kick'. I have tried all kinds of recipes-- from old cookbooks to foodtv network on line recipes AND this is the only one I have made numerous times. I have made it for company and have made it to have sandwich meat. It is great!

Reviews of Pickled Asparagus
I haven't enjoyed eating this yet, just prepared it yesterday. Therefore my rating is rather dubious. I changed the process rather dramatically to better utilize fresh asparagus. I initially cut lgths. to fit 1 pt. jars from the top of spears, then I cut about 1

Reviews of Cream of Mushroom Soup
Rich and savory soup. I also made a few slight changes. Substituted 1 cup water for 1 can of broth, decreased half & half by 1/3 cup and increased flour to 1/3 cup. Will make this again!

Reviews of Sweet Potato BlackBean Burrito
Awesome recipe. I was too hungry to puree everything, so I modified as indicated below. Also, I was cooking for just me, so I only used a half-can of black beans and a cup of sweet potatoes. My modifications are: - heated store bought sweet potato cubes (Trader Joes) in microwave until tender - sauteed a few jalapeno slices with the onions and garlic (the jalapeno is my substitute for the chilis) - added in black beans, etc. to the onion mixture on the stove - stirred in about a tablespoon of salsa - followed other steps and folded in the softened sweet potatoes at the very end Slap that puppy in a burrito with some lettuce and you're done! Even if I followed the recipe exactly, it would've turned out fabulous. There's something about the savory taste of the black beans/onions/spices and the sweet taste of the potato that really makes this a special recipe. It ended up being enough for two people, but after I finished the first burrito, I ended up eating the black bean/sweet potato filling that I should've sa

Reviews of Roast Turkey Breast
This is a fantastic recipe if you want to get a little creative with the turkey. I used thyme, garlic and rosemary and I was really happy with the results. I also recommend that if you choose to use an olive oil with this, you want to steer clear of extra-virgin and use the regular stuff- all that extra fat adds flavor and stops sticking. To be clear, the recipe calls for you to bake it at 325º for 2-3 hours or until the meat reaches 170º. The time could vary based on your oven, if anything else is cooking in the oven with it, using a convection mode and the size of your turkey. With big chunks of meat, time is necessary to ensure that it's cooked thoroughly and evenly. Jacking up the temperature will only shave off a little time and you'll lose a lot of tenderness. I'm astonished that someone gave this review 1 star, then went on to explain how she didn't follow the recipe and then went on to say that the bird was still completed within the parameters of the original recipe. I don't think there are any probl

Reviews of Low Carb Chocolate Mousse
I agree that there's probably to much cocoa in this recipe. I also found I had to use alot more cream. I used 600ml. It's now prefect and I don't ever think I'll make

Reviews of Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream
This ice cream was delicious! The flavor was wonderful. It tasted just like pumpkin pie without the crust. I doubled the recipe and made it in my Cuisinart. It made too much for the machine so it didn't get really hard until it sat in the freezer for awhile. I received so many compliments I will have to make it again! I'm thinking of adding a few pecans the next time. Definitely worth trying if you're looking for something different for your holiday dinner.

Reviews of Country Cornbread Dressing
It is such a great beginning, and I love that it does not have raw eggs in it. I added Boiled Eggs, Pecans, and mushrooms. Wonderful flavor.

Reviews of Apple Stuffed Acorn Squash
It was awesome, although I cut them in 1/2 & stuffed them w/the apples. Had to cook longer but well worth it.

Reviews of Oven Beef Jerky
Wow!! This is so delicious!! Ive made this several times and many of my friends enjoy it. You can add cayenne pepper or paprika to give it a little spice. I use a broil pan....It has slots to allow the juice to fall through and catch in the pan below. Its a quick snack and most of the time you can set your oven to a timer and not even have to be there. Definately recommend leaving the meat over night in the marinade. ENJOY!!

Reviews of Crockpot Lamb Shanks

Reviews of Skillet Toasted Pumpkin Seeds
I tried the salted version. I will do this recipe again. I do not recommend drying on the paper towel over-night though. However, in drying the seeds, I will blot them dry with the paper towels then let them finish drying on a cookie sheet or cake pan over-night. Thanks for the recipe.

Reviews of Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake
First and foremost, it tastes great. The texture is firm, but not too firm. It was easy to make and the eye appeal is a bonus. My family was definitely impressed with the taste and the look. I didn't have ginger snaps on hand, but did have graham crackers, so I made a little substitution there, and it was still phenomenal! Make this one, folks. You'll be glad you did.

Reviews of Butterscotch Crumb Muffins
I love muffins and these are out of this world. I was looking for a way to use up buttermilk and something that's not chocolate since my son is intolerant. The butterscotch chips add a really unique flavor and the crumble on top is fabulous. I can't get enough of muffins with a crumble topping. These take some time and effort to make but aren't partiuclarly tricky. You will need the pastry blender (cheap small utensil or a food processor) to make these. These are my new favorite muffins and even my husband ate and liked them and he has hated butterscotch flavor for years. They just smell too good to pass up though. It's almost impossible to eat just one.

Reviews of White Choco Macadamia Cookies
My daughter and her roommate requested these when they came home from college for the weekend. I tried a recipe from a book first and the results were very disappointing. I was so happy to find this recipe which the girls deemed a huge success as they headed back to school with a box full. I, too, increased the chips to 1 cup and decreased the nuts to 1/2 cup with good results. Got 20 nice sized cookies out of the recipe. I will definitely be sending a box of these when exam time comes around.

Reviews of Chocolate-Covered Cherry Mice
We made these the other night. They were a hit and so darn cute no one wanted to eat them! Instead of using a chocolate chip we used a regular hershey kiss. You HAVE to make these, they are perfect for any party, get together, whatever! Everyone will rave! Thanks!

Reviews of Strawberry Pretzel Dessert Recipe
easy. the salt from pretzels and the sweet from strawberries are a wonderful combination.

Reviews of Plum Jam
This plum jam is amazing! So simple to make and such a great way for me to utilize all the plums growing on my three plum trees! I used a red lavender tea instead of water . . . yummy! This was my first time making jam of any kind and it was so easy that I can't wait to jam up more of my plums for holiday gifts. :)

Reviews of Steak Diane
Try adding crushed garlic just before you add the cream. If you add garlic at the beginning, it may burn and turn nasty. As well as pepper, you can try adding green peppercorn : great ! Also : you can safely prepare the sauce in advance, grill the steaks normally (i.e. rare) and coat the steaks with the reheated sauce.

Reviews of Honey Lime Tuna
Excellent! Cooked tuna steaks in EVOL with sm amt butter for about 4min each side with lid on high (gas) Carmelized onions in another pan. Did not use lime or dill, omitted salt used juice from yellow peppers instead in marinade.

Reviews of Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
This is a great recipe! I would recomend it to anyone hosting a party or who just wants a delicious snack!

Reviews of Chocolate Marshmallow Kisses
I made these for an office party over the holidays. Everyone loved them. Will definitely make them again. I was tickled pink that mine turned out just like the picture. They were gone in no time flat and I've already shared the recipe with 2 friends.

Reviews of Pork Ribs in Tomato Gravy
Made this exactly as directed. This was absolutely great. Great flavor. Meat so tender. Husband hates parsley, so next time will omit from presentation. Otherwise, this was a total 5 star.

Reviews of Quince Marmalade
what do you do with the cores and seeds? I will make this when the fruit is in season, it will remind me of my childhood, my mother used to makes this in Cyprus. This is my favorite marmalade, I tried the ready made, but threw them all out and they are costly..

Reviews of Marshmallows
I love marshmallows and was very excited to be able to make my own! This recipe is fool proof and makes great marshmallows. It does take a while and is very sticky, but it's worth it.

Reviews of Coke Brisket
The good things about this recipe are: the meat was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth tender. The flavor of the sauce was nice, too. But the dish was INCREDIBLY salty, almost inedibly so. I tasted the sauce about 1 1/2 hours into the cooking time and was shocked at the salt level. I peeled and quartered 5 russet potatoes and added them to the pot about 1 1/2 hours before the end of the cooking time; they offset some of the saltiness, but it was still almost too salty to eat. If you make this, definitely omit the added kosher salt, and use salt-free tomato sauce if you can.

Reviews of Garlic Ginger Pork Roast
Can you go wrong with garlic, ginger and honey? Not with this recipe. What a delightful flavor from such an easy dinner to prepare. With the garlic cloves inserted into the roast or with minced garlic added to the blend, doesn't matter. Every time the refrigerator was opened the kitchen would smell so good, my family could hardly wait for me to cook the meal. Another thumbs up!

Reviews of Prime Rib Roast
What a beautiful roast. I have made this twice now and it was perfect. My new husband was impressed, and he's pretty fussy.

Reviews of Easy Wine-Marinated Brisket
This brisket was delicious. We seldom eat beef but this was a treat. I used red wine and marinated it overnight. Dinner was over hours ago and the house still has the wonderful aroma.

Reviews of Caribbean Island Lime Shrimp Recipe
I didn't have the alcohol, but it was still very tasty without it. I also added lime zest because I love lime flavor. I had some cooked rice and added it to the sauce so it could soak up the flavor. My whole family, (including my toddler) couldn't get enough of it! Thanks for the great recipe! I'll definitely make it again!

Reviews of Lite Guacamole
I enjoyed it more by cutting the cottage cheese back and adding a bit of fresh cilantro.

Reviews of Homemade Olive Tapenade
One night I desperately needed olive tapenade (strange, but true). My local store did not carry it - so I looked up an easy recipe online & found this one! I'm not a cook - and I don't own a food processor or anything... I was able to make this recipe with a knife and cutting board. There's not a lot of ingredients and it's very simple to make... it's also really good. The first time I made it I actually didn't have kalamata olives - so I used green olives, and I have to say it was just as tasty! I gave it 4 stars only because I added some minced garlic to it. If you need a good, simple, quick olive tapenade recipe - try this one!

Reviews of Easy Beef Brisket with Veggies
Not only was it easy but the ingredients are all in your pantry. I substituted ketchup for the tomato juice and when I went to slice the brisket, I took the gravy minus the vegetables and put it in a saucepan and added beef broth to thin it out. I also cooked this ahead and waited an hour to slice the brisket. Then I put everything back in a pyrex dish and before serving warmed up covered in a 325 oven. I had people over for dinner and everyone wanted the recipe. Thanks, I took a chance without any reviews and I'm glad I did!

Reviews of Balsamic Vinaigrette
This recipe for balsamic vinaigrette is the best and my family agree's. I use it all the time now. Thanks!

Pour half the can of beer in a cup and prop rinsed chicken on the 1/2 full beer can. Rub crisco on the whole chicken and sprinkle poultry seasoning all over and then pour the beer from the cup over the entire chicken. I made this recipe in my oven and baked at 350 for 2 hours. Chicken turns golden brown and is EXCELLENT. My favorite thing about this recipe is that it is quick and easy.

Reviews of Honey Cornish Game Hens
This recipe was a hit with friends I had over for dinner one night. It is now legendary and I am making it again tomorrow for someone who missed out and asked for it especially. Side dishes were Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Honey Glazed Carrots.

Reviews of Tortilla Soup
This is a very simple recipe to make and it tastes just like the restaurant version. We lived in San Diego for over 12 years and had all of our family celebrations at El Torrito, having the soup 100's of times; I can vouch that this recipe is tastes the same. By the way, my family swears it cures the common cold!

Reviews of Irish Potato Onion Soup
I've been making this soup since the book got published. It is absolutely the best potato soup I've ever tasted. Everyone loves it and can't get enough. It always gets eaten.

Reviews of Cucumber Mandarin Orange Salad
Delicious, easy and colorful, too! Thank you Peggy, for another winner. Happy upcoming holidays, Carrie :>

Reviews of Tandoori Chicken
I am making this for the second time. The first time, I followed the recipe exactly; marinated it over-night and roasted in oven a little longer than recommended (about 40 minutes). It was delicious. The seasoning was perfect, not over or under seasoned. The only change I'll make this time is double the marinade recipe to have plenty to brush on the chicken while it's roasting, plus use a little more salt. I used the two teaspoons of salt, but will use more this time. What I enjoyed about this recipe was that the seasoning was not overwhelming and it was moist and tender.

Reviews of Applesauce Raisin Cake
Very yummy but my raisins sank to the bottom. Any way to prevent that???

Reviews of Banana Zucchini Bread
This is one recipe I'm making from now on, for any occation. The family loves it, and the kids can't even tell it contains a (yikes) vegetable! It bakes up quickly, beautifully and simply. Makes a lovely gift offering for bringing to a party, too. Many thanks Peggy, for another winner!

Reviews of Corn Chowder
I liked this chowder a lot. I did not put in the peppers, thyme or chives. I did add potatoes and did not blend the soup. Then when done I added bacon to the top. Delicious!

Reviews of Spiced Bing Cherry Jam
I agree with the previous post. After reducing the sugar to 2 1/4 cups and using sugar free pectin the sweetness was just right and it still set up nicely. I also substituted bourbon for the amaretto and added a splash more than called for. Great combo of spices. Yield was 5 jelly jars. Delish!

Reviews of Classic Pesto
Wow! It really did take 5 minutes! Miles better than a shop version so I'll make my own from now on. I toasted the pine nuts gently first as this makes their flavour better, and added a few more than the recipe suggests, just to season it to my taste. The family absolutely loved it too, so we'll do this again!

Reviews of Spinach Pie
Overall, I thought this turned out to be a wonderful dish with just a few changes I would make. First, because I do not like cheddar cheese I used Swiss instead, I think It needs more onions/onion powder and I think crumbled up bacon would be good in it as well. One more thing...more salt. But I've been eating mine every day & I love it. I just wonder how many calories it has..... ~Beth, Hilton Head, SC

Reviews of Lentil Salad
I haven't even tried a bite of this recipe yet, but after getting about 3/4 of the way through it, I will say that it is very poorly written. When writing a recipe, it helps to use clear language (free of cumbersome, confusing links to scallion information for instance); and it helps to explain when odd processes are employed (cutting a carrot in half to add? sitcking cloves in onions {the garlic? what?}). So yes, now I have something sort of resembling a hot lentil salad dish, not all that much like anything that was poorly described here. Hope it turns out okay...

Reviews of Avocado Bread
I tried the Avocado bread last night and was pleasantly surprised with the results! I wanted a slightly sweeter style bread so I added an extra 1/4 cup of brown sugar and some cinnamon. I still want to play with this but I really enjoyed it. Mixing the wet and dry ingredients was not pretty but it looked great in the end! I highly recommend it! My wife said it would be great with coffee. My next run I hope to put in some orange zest!

Reviews of Ceviche
So far this is the best ceviche recipe that I have tried.

Reviews of Shrimp in Tomato Cream Sauce
We cooked this tonight and it was delicious, easy and FAST! I added asparagus to the dish and some extra tomatoes I had that were ripe. I also used light cream rather than heavy cream to cut down on the fat and white zinfandel for the wine. Very Tasty! Even my 3 yr old ate the shrimp and asparagus and he asked for 3 helpings of angel hair pasta. I bought french bread to eat with dinner and we used it to soak up the wonderful sauce. We used the food processor to mince the shallots and garlic to speed things up. I would modify this recipe and add scallops or even salmon for a different dinner. I would highly recommend this recipe for an easy dinner during the week.

Reviews of Easy Herbed Grilled Salmon
I have tried this recipe twice now, and my husband and I both loved it. We are not big fish eaters, but gave this a try, anyway. I doubled the condiments and put them in an empty condiment bottle, ready for the next time. Didn't have the white wine, and baked it in the convection oven.

Reviews of Sinfully Easy Fudge
To begin this review, I must state that I have been reading articles on about.com for years, but have only registered as a member now just to write this. I love baking and have tried countless fudge recipes over the years, some which I have perfected after endless attempts. This one however, has amazed me no end! Only a few minutes prep time, £5 for 2lbs of gorgeous fudge and infinite

Reviews of Beer Puffs
Finally, I've made some puffs! I used a light lager beer and a plastic ziploc bag and I puffed away, they turned out great, half was for appetizers (seafood salad) the other half for dessert, in Quebec well call them crème puff! delicious, thanks for sharing!

Reviews of Homemade (Cooked) Mayonnaise
This was my first attempt at making my own mayonnaise and it came out great. It is the best I've ever tasted and the texture was perfect. My only substitution was using apple cider vinegar instead of lemon juice. I wonder of the last reviewer poured the oil too quickly, not giving the mixture enough time to incorporate it - that may explain the

Reviews of American Shepherd's Pie
I made this recently and have friends over for dinner....It was the biggest hit EVER!!!!! I thought for sure we'd have leftovers as I doubled the recipe....well, guess again....we had nothing left....It is one of the easiest, tastiest dishes I have ever made....Will DEFINITELY make again...

Reviews of Root Beer Baked Beans
have made many different versions of baked beans over the years, however this was the best!

Reviews of From-Scratch Baked Beans
I had always wanted to make home made baked beans but usually wound up fixing a doctored up version. Not any more! This recipe is just somewhat time consuming and well worth the effort. I did not soak the beans overnight either. I parboiled them for two minutes and turned the heat off and let them sit for several hours to steep. Later, I rinsed them off and boiled again for about one hour and they were plenty soft . One word of caution regarding the Magic Dust recipe... I am not one who like overly hot and spicy food. You may want to adjust the seasoning down to one tablespoon of Cayenne pepper in the '

Reviews of Cranberry Pepper Pork Loin
This was indeed too good for words. It was so tender and moist. Not sure if it was the overnight marinade, or the combination of the rub, or what. I was skeptical, but I did not overcook it. Changed my mind about cooking pork too long. Here's another one for my keeper list. Thnx. CG

Hello- Don't waste time looking for another recepie! This was easy to make and tasted fabulous- so creamy- everyone ate every drop and there was nothing left for seconds! It was rich, creamy and very tasty. If your crab meat comes from a container- sprinkle a half teaspoon of Old Bay into the mix- You will love it! Deborah

Reviews of Homemade Grenadine
i am so glad that i found this recipe, i have been looking for a grenadine syrup that doesn't have any high fructose corn syrup in it, and decided it didn't exist and that i would have to make my own. it was very easy to do, i didn't have cheesecloth so i used a fine mesh metal strainer and pushed a spoon on the seeds to get all the juice out. i used organic cane sugar and no dyes, the color is beautiful on its own. i did a taste test with a mixed drink and the homemade is far superior to the name brand one i have.

Reviews of Patriotic Cupcakes
Just a quick tip- make sure you have plenty of time to decorate these =) I didn't leave myself enough time, and after 15 minutes I only had 6 cupcakes decorated. I was in a time crunch and improvised the rest to get them done. It was mostly that the fruit strips were sticky, and not easy to work with. But if you have plenty of time, and patience, they are really cute. When it was cupcake time, the flags went first. Also, my family doesn't like cherries, so we used chopped up fresh strawberries. I would definitely make them again!

Reviews of Beef Fajitas Skirt Steak

Strange recipe. Doesn't give complete directions: Doesn't give size for dish, Doesn't say what to do with the toast after it is buttered. Only a seasoned cook would know procedures.

Reviews of Gingered Chicken with Mango
It is of the utmost necessity that you use the freshest ginger you can find and the tastied fresh chicken. There are several hundred varieties of mangoes, some sour, some heavenly sweet. Be sure to purchase those with a more sweet than sour taste. This flavor infused into the lovely chicken will create a dish to die for. A true taste of the islands. Yum. And easy to make.

Reviews of Avocado and Chicken Casserole
My family really enjoyed this recipe. Pretty simple and I already had most of the ingredients. I did sub the green noodles with regular noodles, but either way it was great.

Reviews of Bittersweet Brownie Cookies Recipe
These cookies really are a chocolate lover's dream. Everyone loved them. I've made promises to share the recipe. Will make again and again for sure.

Reviews of Savory Chicken Couscous
I don't know what I was expecting but this is some pretty dry stuff...Perhaps some type of sauce would help...so its on to new recipes...something with a little moisture and perhaps some added flavor.

Reviews of Atkins Bake Mix Clone
I have been making this for several years using this same recipe, don't know if I got it here or somewhere else. For pancakes or biscuits, add about a teaspoon or more of baking powder with a tad of salt per half cup of mix. cinnamon and nutmeg help the taste too. For biscuits, add half a tablespoon or more of baking powder with a couple tads of salt per cup of mix. I make the biscuits in a 5x8 pan rather than individual, they both puff up fine.

Reviews of Papaya Seed Dressing
Your Papaya Seed Dressing over a cool green salad was the perfect choice for our Labor Day cookout. In the beginning I was sure that I had made too much considering all the wonderful grilled foods and covered dishes. Yet, word spread like wild fire and the dressing earned its place on the annual menu. This item is not only deseving of A+++ reviews but it got them as well. Wonderful!

Reviews of Hash Brown Potato Casserole Recipe
First time I made this, it turned out great! But the second time I made it, I substituted in red onion instead of yellow, and I added more onion, and pepper, a bit less cheese, and added in about 3/4 cup lowfat bacon pieces, and it was delicious! I would defiantly recommend this!

Reviews of Apple Coffee Cake Recipe
I made this cake based on the other review. It didn't cook right in the middle because of the apple filling on top. I left it in a lot longer than the recipe said, just to see if I could get it to finally bake, but then the edges dried out. It was edible, but not really worth the effort.

Reviews of Italian Meat Loaf
My husband just loved this recipe. We usually don't like meatloaf but this one was yummy! He even went back for seconds. I didn't use the ground pork because I didn't want to go to the store, but with just the beef it was delicious! Will make again. So easy!

Reviews of Cajun Spice Mix
Obviously my last name dictates an ethnicity other than Cajun, but I love Cajun food and am learning how to prepare it myself. This is the BEST recipe for spice mix that I have found. I've tried every one possible in the store, and none can compare. It's simple, easy to make, and well worth it!

Reviews of Homemade Pepperoni
I've noted that a couple of other readers have commented on the wine taste. This flavor is -traditional- for classic pepperoni -- we're just not accustomed to it in the United States, because commercial manufacturers do not tend to use wine -- instead, they use artificial flavors. Imported, small-batch pepperoni will have a much more noticeable wine flavor, unless is has been aging for months (the wine taste does diminish over time, as the flavors blend and meld). The body of the wine used for pepperoni is very important. A heavy-bodied wine (like burgundy) will leave a heavy wine flavor. Instead, opt for a lighter dry red, like a -good- Syrah or light-bodied Zinfandel. For a slightly stronger, but not overwhelming wine back-note, a good medium-body Chianti is a traditional (and tasty) choice. (Rule of thumb -- if you won't drink the wine, you shouldn't use it to cook with, because cooking/aging accentuates the wine's flavor). Whatever you do, do not leave the wine out of the recipe. The wine adds crucial aci

Reviews of Roasted Pork Shoulder Recipe
Chinese and spanish for centuries kept the skin on the roast to cook for the evident reason of evaporation during the cooking process; slashing the skin and inserting the spice mix underskin is the method to get flavor and avoid deleterious evaporation of the final result; at the end there is no need to wrap with alu foil by leaving the roast cool with the then crisp skin; the skin and fat layer is easily removed after before cutting and serving..you get a moist, most flavorful piece of meat you'll ever get..no need to use alu sheet that will end up in the environment 50% of the time.. Moreover keeping the skin allow any kind of cooking process in any country where thermostat in the oven is still wishful thinking.

Reviews of Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf
My husband made this meatloaf and it is, without a doubt, the best meatloaf I have ever eaten. I was a little concerned about some of the ingredients, such as pickle relish. But, the cooked meatloaf shows no visual hint of pickle relish or cheese inside. For bread crumbs, he used 1/2 cup plain bread crumbs and 1/2 cup crushed Seasoned Croutons. I recommend that everyone try this recipe at least once.

Reviews of Filet Mignon with Caper Sauce
This recipe was not only easy to make, but incredibly delicious. It's a wonderful alternative to Bearnaise sauce, and dinner guests love it.

Reviews of Cornish Hens with Acorn Squash
This recipe is quick, easy, healthy and delicious! I have substituted chicken parts for the hens on occasion. The entire house smells like a winter meal is on the way. Hearty yet not too filling.

Reviews of Cornish Hens with Cherry Sauce
I have continually used this recipe throughout the years, and particularly around Christmas time. Everyone who has ever had one of my hens has raved about it. Also, this recipe does not require many ingredients, so it is easy to make and relatively inexpensive. I definitely recommend this recipe because it is a big time saver and comes out like a dish better than a five star restaraunt could make!

Reviews of Chick Spinach Tortellini Soup
This soup is very good. I'm not big on pasta, so next time I will omit the tortellini and put beans in the soup. But I made it as is this time, and it is quite flavorful.

Reviews of Peanut Butter Choco Chip Cake
Very good to make for a crowd. It is very dense, moist, and filling, so it can be cut in smaller pieces to go further. The first time I made it I thought the chocolate chips were too overwhelming. The next time I made it I just drizzled melted chocolate over the crumbs after it cooled.

Reviews of Big Chocolate Chip Cookies
I am a casual baker. This recipe made nice sized cookies, but they are very, very dry. I turned the oven down a tad, to about 340, and reduced the time to 18 minutes, which helped a little....but I won't make this again.

Reviews of Amaretto Chicken & Noodles
Unless you like very strong sage and thyme flavor, this recipe is no good. it tastes very sweet. there is no chicken flavor at all. the amaretto does not go well, a white wine or vermouth would be better. Plain , salted noodles would be better with this. Nothing in this, works or compliments another ingredient. The way it reads, you'll need a very strong flavoured bevarage to wash this dish down! All in all, I have decided that there is too much that would have to be changed, and there for give this recipe an F. 12-02-08

Reviews of Watermelon Muffins
Had a lot of watermelon left over from a picnic and decided to try these muffins. I followed the recipe exactly and they were very tasty. After reading the previous review, I would recommend making them as written, without substitutions, because these were enjoyed by my family.

Reviews of Chicken Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta
Excellent recipe, makes 2 VERY large portions. I sauteed with a blend of real butter and extra virgin olive oil. I removed the vegetables from the pan to brown the chicken and then returned them to the pan before adding the wine. If I make it again, I will leave out the fennel seeds. It does not meld well with the other flavors and it's not needed. The wine compliments the chicken beautifully and coating the chicken in the flour mixture created a nice sauce. Totally worth making this dish. Will be eating the leftovers at work.

Reviews of Chicken Asparagus Lasagna
I can't believe no one has reviewed this. I made it for a dinner party and eveyone wanted the recipe. It is really delicious.

Reviews of Nutmeg Raisin Coffee Cake
If you follow the recipe exactly, you won't have enough dough for the second layer. In order to make this work, I had to quickly mix up a new batch of dough with c. 1 cup flour, 1/2 c sugar, 1/2 stick of butter, 1/2 c sour cream, 1 small egg, and a pinch of baking soda to cover the bare 1/3 of the cake! I also recommend mixing the nutmeg into the dry ingredients, so it will mix better throughout the cake, and adding a bit of cinnamon. Aside from these modifications, it was a decent recipe.

Reviews of Apple Cake
I made this to use up some apples I had around, and not only did my family rave over it, but so did the people at work. I will definately make this again.

Reviews of Key Lime Pie Recipe
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use bottled key lime juice in this pie. I'm sure that there is something out there that you could use bottled lime juice for, but this is NOT it. I made that mistake once, when I was feeling too lazy and too short on time to squeeze 20 key limes - totally ruined some good condensed milk - which would have been much better by itself, for that matter. Not to mention the fact that the bottled juice was more expensive than buying the fresh limes (this may not be the case where you live, since I know limes can get pretty pricey in some parts of the country - but fresh limes are worth it anyway). And if you can't find key limes, don't fret. Use regular (persian) limes, and it will taste just fine. Even fresh lemon juice tastes great... just take my word for it, DON'T use bottled lime juice.

Reviews of Sticky Garlic Chicken Skewers
I copied this recipe out of Ainsley’s book when I borrowed it from the library two years ago but lost it shortly afterwards. I’ve been Googling for days trying to find it again as it was gorgeous and while there were many recipes that were similar, they weren’t the same. It is a gorgeous marinade and not particularly hot, it has the right amount of heat. I started to marinade the chicken and then just pan fry it, that was nice!! Going to go and make it ready for my BBQ tomorrow!

Reviews of SunDried Tomato Basil Couscous
Using McKays vegetarian chicken broth powder, dried basil, cayenne pepper, and fresh tomatoes as substitutions for what I didn't have on hand, I proceeded as instructed. After the couscous had adsorbed the broth, I fluffed and piled in layers: couscous, freshly steamed and buttered peas, fresh chopped tomatoes, and feta atop. It was colorful and VERY tasty! Even my persnickety mother loved it!

Reviews of Pumpkin Banana Bread
I'm 16 years old and love cooking, and I have to say out of all the recipe's this one looked the most flavorable.I'm not quit done cooking it but the batter tasted amazing.

Reviews of Beach Bread
I couldn't just make the recipe as is. I had to adjust the flavor. I added hot sauce to the melted butter; used scallions'; cut the slices of bread a bit smaller (bite size); used whole slices of tomato (neater to eat as an appetizer); and crushed fresh pepper and salt on the tomato's; and reduced fat crumbled blue cheese....delish...I will make this again, and again.

Reviews of Simple Baked Brisket
I found this to be too salty and too greasy. All the juices had to be thrown out. I think the fat should be trimmed and forget the Kosher salt. The onion soup mix would be enough.

Reviews of Sesame Lemon Pepper Swordfish
I have never written a recipe review before. This will be my first, but probably not my last. I remember having swordfish growing up some 40 plus years ago. In Hawaii swordfish, also called Shutome, is not that popular (unbelievable since it is caught in the Pacific Ocean.) We normally eat raw fish, have lomi lomi salmon or cook fish like Mahimahi. I recently re-discovered this fish and can't believe that so many years have passed since eating this special delicacy. I recently steamed swordfish and it was great; so moist. As most other cooks, I like to experiment with new twists on old favorites. I followed this recipe exactly and it was delicious. The crustiness was fantastic and certainly different from my previous steamed fish. The herbs all blend well together. As noted, just don't overcook. A 1

Reviews of Marmalade Oven-Fried Chicken
We loved this recipe with chicken thighs. I'll make it again with chicken, but first!....... I'm going to try it again with boneless pork chops and salmon filets. I think it will taste great on all of these meats. The orange marmalade flavor mixed with the spicy breadcrumbs is delicious!

Reviews of Pork Loin Mushroom Stroganoff
Although I made some minor substitutions (pork cutlets vs. loin steaks, olive oil vs. butter to saute, baby portabello mushrooms, cabernet sauvignon and half&half vs. heavy cream) it came out wonderfully. The only addition I made was a sprinkling of dried tarragon for seasoning. Over noodles it was so good that (darn) no leftovers for lunch! I didn't give it 5 stars because that would have to knock my sox off. This was plate-licking good!

Reviews of Corned Beef & Cabbage
Absolutely the best corned beef recipe I have come across. The malt vinegar(available in the vinegar section of your grocery store) and the stout beer ( I used Guinness) gave the dish incredible flavor. My family loved it! I did one extra step. At the point where you add the veggies to the pot, I removed the beef to a baking pan and glazed it with a mixture of dark orange marmalade, dijon mustard and sugar*. Baked it at 350 for the 1/2 hour while the veggies cooked. This gave the meat a wonderful baked on glaze flavor. To serve, I sliced up the beef and scooped up the veggies and placed Irish mustard on the table. *Silver Palette recipe Glazed Corned Beef With or without the extra step, this meal was terrific!

Reviews of Manhattan Clam Chowder
I have been cooking since the age of 10.And I love cooking from scratch. I highly suggest that everybody should take the time to make this wonderful, amazing soup. It's time consuming, but it is worth it. You will never buy canned soups ever again.

Reviews of Potato Leek Cheddar Bacon Soup
This soup is quite good, definitely reminds me of a baked potatoe. Reminds me a little too much of potatoe, the leek gets pretty much completely lost in it. The garnishes really make it.

Reviews of Pavlova
My parents were born in Australia and we never had Pavlova like the NZ one till we moved there to live over 30 yrs ago. So although Australians claim the Pavlova as theirs, I would say that credit really goes to the 'Kiwis' for this one. Also, my Mum spent many months trying everyone's 'fail-proof' Pavlova, so every Sunday we had another recipe for lunch. It was lots of fun. This is a yummy, yummy recipe

Reviews of Tuna with Lemon Cream Sauce
I tried it for the first time on Easter Sunday, my family loved it, can't say that the capers add much to it, but it was really simple and delicious. Served with herbed roasted potatoes and a vegetable, was anything leftover!

The recipe is nice. I would replace ham with Corn .the Green & yellow colour combo will look excellent . Agree?

Reviews of Coca Cola 7-bone Roast
I've always heard of a coke and a smile, but a coke and a roast? The first time I made this I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out delicious. Trust me, YOU CANNOT GO WRONG with this recipe. The second time I made this I did the following: • Less meat, more veggies (2.5 lbs of meat and still fed 6 people) • Longer roast time (3 hours) • Added Worchester sauce ( ¼ cup) • French sea salt (vs. Kosher salt) (Grey French Sea Salt…it brought out a more “meaty” flavor) • Heavier salt/pepper seasoning of the roast when searing (French Sea Salt is coarser, thereby leading to a heavier coating, plus I let the pan get REALLY hot before searing and allowed the roast to sear for 2-3 mins on each side) • Used real Sweet Hungarian paprika (not the generic kind) this made a subtle but still noticeably amazing difference. • The “sweet” paprika combined with the sugar from the Coke and meaty sea-salt flavor…WOW. Try it. I’d love to know which version you like best.

Reviews of Pomegranate Cake
i tried to make this twice and to no avail. i even bought cake flour for the 2nd go around. it came out like a jelly rather than a cake. when i read the ingredients to my mom who knows her stuff alot better than i do she couldn't figure out how it would be a cake w/ even amounts of flour and juice. so if anyone has any ideas please let me know.it soulnds so good.

Reviews of Gingered Carrot Parsnip Soup
I doubled the portions cause I wanted to have leftovers. I've never cooked with fresh ginger before. I also guessed a bit with the stock since I'd changed the proportions. I forgot the lemon juice and used Elmlea cause the shop was out of double cream. The result has reminded me why it is so much more rewarding to make things myself than buy it ready-made. This is gorgeously simple and simply gorgeous. Definitely will be making this again.

Reviews of Pomegranate Jelly
I liked the jelly but found the flavor a bit on the weak side. Also, it set but not as firm as I would have liked. The 10 large pomegranates yielded about 7 1/2 cups of juice, so I added a 1/2 cup of water and made a double batch. Like I said, weak. The next time, I got 6 cups of juice which I boiled down to 4 before adding the remaining ingredients. Much better! Lots of flavor and a firmer set. Definitely worth the trouble of breaking down all those pomegranates. With the alterations I have mentioned, I will make this every year.

Reviews of Cauliflower Gratin
Great alternative to high carb mash potatoes without the ham and green onions. I will add them in for a quiche type alternative on Sundays. I did not know cauliflower could be sooo good!

Reviews of Sugar Snap Peas and Mushrooms
This is a great recipe that tastes and looks great. But don't think of it as only a recipe for special occasions because it is super easy to make. We have cooked this dish twice in our home over the last week -- both times it received rave reviews. Is the time of arrival for your dinner guests less than certain? You can cook the mushrooms, onions, garlic and wine as noted and when you reach the point in the recipe when it's time to add the snap peas, carrots and broth you can turn the pot down to low and cover it. Then, put in the final ingredients 5 minutes before you serve up. That way the veggies will be cooked to perfection. It also doesn't hurt that the mushrooms, onions, garlic and wine simmer a little longer as you wait for all members of your dinner party to arrive. Enjoy!

Reviews of Buffalo Chicken Wings
If you follow this recipe exactly, you will not get as crisp a result as possible. The trick is to coat them first with the melted butter, then sprinkle the hot sauce over them. The greasy butter then prevents the hot sauce from soaking into the skin and making them less crispy. Try it. You'll see and taste the difference immediately. I doubt you'll ever mix the hot sauce and butter together again. And, everyone will wonder,

Reviews of Eggplant Rigatoni Garlic Sauce
Bummer - I even added onion and zucchini and more cheese - plus put bread crumbs on top----no flavor!! Very boring dish. And have to pass it off for a few more meals since there was so much.

Reviews of Salmon Burgers or Patties Recipe
excellent recipe! I grew up on salmon cakes and this takes them from a quickie dinner to a lovely meal, thank you

Reviews of 40 Clove Garlic Brisket
I've made this recipe a couple of times. It seems like a lot of garlic but the garlic cloves are sweet when cooked. The second time I used a pressure cooker and cooked it in less than an hour. The gravy is tangy with the addtion of balsamic vinegar.

Reviews of Potato Chip Meatballs
Not sure which was better...the meatballs or the mushroom gravy. I didn't have a large deep skillet, so I just used my large stockpot, which worked just as well. The instructions were simple. We will definately be enjoying this over and over. It's a good way to stretch meat which has become so expensive these days. BTW, I did use the cheaper ground chuck and was surprised that it had much more flavor than lean hamburger meat. The previous reviewer must have made the meatballs too large because after browning, mine were already cooked through (and shrunk somewhat) even before simmering in the gravy. Thank you.

Reviews of Pumpkin Pie Drops Cookies
These are amazingly good. The only thing I cut back on is the butter. You don't need 1/2 pound, 1 cup is fine, and I'd go as far to say 1/2 a cup is fine. They are moist and delicious without it.

Reviews of Candied Ginger Butter
Worked very well with the muffins. Easy to make. Keeps fine for a few days.

Reviews of Tofu Sloppy Joes
This is a nourishing and potentially tasty recipe. However, it was neither saucy enough nor flavorful enough. The kids, in fact, did not enjoy it, and neither did the adults.

Reviews of Horseradish Apple Soup
If I were to make the recipe again, I think I would use half the recommended amount of horseradish.

Reviews of Irish American Lamb Stew
this was so simple to make and it filled the house with a smell of something wounderful. I served it with noodles instead of the sugested mashed potatoes.

Reviews of Homemade Rose Water, Rose Oil
This is a great kitchen implementation of a method used in purifying and separating chemicals (Condensation on a cold finger). I would suggest a few adjustments: crushing or chopping the herbs may help release more oils (zesting for citrus peels). If your stainless steel bowl doesn't form a good seal, use a ring of aluminum foil folded a few times over may help; just be sure that condensation will still run into the collecting dish. For separating the oil and water, there are two methods that could work. The best would be to buy a separatory funnel and a ring stand for it; this will allow you to control the separation very easily; sep. funnels generally range from 15 to 50 dollars depending on size and are very fragile. The other method, which might be more difficult depending on the oil, is to freeze the products. This will result in a few possible outcomes: the water freezes but the oil remains liquid, the oil is easily poured off; the oil freezes but water is still liquid, the oil comes out in a chunk; bot

Reviews of Crab Puffs
don't be afraid of this one- it's quick and easy and absolutely delicious. Use a good quality crab meat. it's worth the extra money.

Reviews of Baked Ham in Champagne
I used this recipe for a ham I made last year. It was a hit. Hardly any leftovers. I'm making it again this year.

Reviews of Pomegranate Pork Steaks
This recipe is fabulous and I'll tell you why: -Pork cuts are typically less expensive meat (save $) and is still tastey and seasoned just right. -The gravy is very creative. Spicy mustard and the sweet unexpected Pomegranate juice make a great combination -Quick to cook! A+ recommend

Reviews of Mesquite Angel Chicken
so i decided to try this out for a change of pace in the kitchen, followed the directions to a T, and couldnt bring myself to finish the fist bite. the vinegar and lemon juice give the chicken a rotten taste. This receipe should be removed from the site so noone else wastes their money attempting this.

Reviews of Tomato Saffron Chicken
This is a really excellent recipe - easy to prepare and healthy. It's not often that I stand over the sink after a meal with the pot in one hand and a wooden spoon in the other slurping down the leftover sauce. The kids love it too. And you can add some of your favorites; e.g. celery, pine nuts or mushrooms. Thanks, Peggy - I think this one's addictive.

Reviews of Sea Scallop Salad
This salad is easy to make and has a great Asian flavor. It went together very quickly - I made it for dinner but would gladly serve it to guests. I didn't have peanut oil so used olive oil and I don't think it lacked anything. My husband loved it!

Reviews of Cranberry Pumpkin Waffles
This recipe made the best cranberry waffles I ever tasted. Thanks, thanks and more thanks for sharing. My one year old son loved the taste and could not get enough! This is my new breakfast favorite.

Reviews of Cranberry-Pecan Stuffing
My sister and I made this recipe. only we made it in a dressing form. It was delicous! The only change we made was to add more chicken broth, as the half cup was way too little. We also added fresh crushed garlic. It was moist and had the right balance of savory and sweet. One person is still asking about it, six months later.

Reviews of Peanut Butter Rollo Cookies
i have been using this recipe for about a year now and its the only recipe i use its just so perfect

Reviews of Peanut Butter Choco Cookie Cup
I made this with recipe with 150 students, they thought it was fantastic.

Reviews of Choco Peanut Butter Crisp Bars
These are definitely the best brownies I have ever made. I brought them to work for a birthday celebration and everyone raved about them. The potato chips made them unique but quite crispy and delicious. They are very rich and more like candy than a cookie. Don't be deterred by how stiff the batter is. It takes a bit of effort to spread it out in the pan and it will be a thin layer. But it bakes up beautifully. I used the whole package of peanut butter chips. I refrigerated the pan of frosted brownies overnight and they were like a brick the next morning when I cut them up. Thank goodness for the aluminum foil! I wasn't sure how they would taste, being so hard. But once they came to room temperature they were absolutely scrumptious! I had lots of requests for the recipe. If you love brownies, you've just got to make these!

Reviews of Graham Cracker Brownies
This a very delicious brownie...one of the best I ever tasted. Actually I prepared this recipe as one of my items in a Valentine's box where I placed several brownie items for sale. It was instantly a big hit! Scrumptiously delicious!

Reviews of Sauteed Filet Mignon
Nice taste! It is hard to mess up such a quality meat! I increase the quantity to service 6 individuals and they enjoyed it so much! I will use this again.

Reviews of Corn Cheddar Tomato Muffins
I cut this recipe by one third, because I only had 1/2 a cup of sun-dried tomatoes I wanted to use. It turned out great!!!! Don't know what the other reviewer did, but I loved this recipe.

Reviews of New York Style Cheesecake
This was easy to make, turned out beautiful, smooth, and tasted great first day until gone! I would cut back on the zest of both to taste. You must follow baking directions-let cool before putting in fridge. We could only pour so much into shell and if your short on time, works well in pre-prepared shells as well. We tried adding finely chopped pecans to graham mix and also layering same pecans in middle of cheesecake. Add what you like in middle and have a great time! You will look like a PRO!

Reviews of White Choco Lime Cheesecake
I made these one year on the fourth of July and they were an especially BIG hit with my young cousins. (Even the oldest(8), who doesn't normally like cream cheese or anything ,for that matter, that his mother doesn't cook herself! ) The youngest(5) has asked for them again on several occasions. They really are delicious but because the recipe makes so many (72) it does take quite a while to bake them all in a standard home oven. I also altered the recipe a bit by changing the vanilla cake mix in the recipe to lemon which made it a bit more citrusy in my opinion. Overall a great recipe! :)

Reviews of Baked Brie with Amaretto
I have made this recipe several times, and all my friends are so impressed each time I serve it. I am now EXPECTED to make it when we get together, lol! We rarely have leftovers! My favorite way to serve it is with thinly sliced Gala apples. The only thing I change is that I use a liqueur called Amarula Cream. Wowza! It's worth finding and ordering! This is definitely a crowd pleaser, or a really wonderful treat on a cold night with the love of my life after our little ones are in bed!

Reviews of Sausage Brie in Puff Pastry
Ok Ladies, If you want a appetizer that guys will fight over....this is the one. I have made these many times and my husband now grabs one as soon as they come out of the oven or he says he will never get one.....they are literally gone as soon as they hit the table. Great for Christmas, New Years or Super Bowl!

Reviews of Rice Apple Raisin Dressing
The rice dressing was very spicy and very tasty. I used a Berry Medley (dried blueberries, cherries, cranberries & golden raisins) in place of just raisins. This provided for a very colorful dish on Christmas day. Be sure to use a natural chicken stock because you do not need a spicy stock. If you like spicy foods, you will certainly enjoy this dish.

Reviews of Feta Penne Greens Pine Nuts
I didn't add shallots at all, and I couldn't find kale or savoy, so I substituted chard and bok choy.I also used cilantro instead of parsley. It was absolutely delicious, though a little too fussy in preparation. Next time I'll skip the pan searing of the penne, which was a pain. Nonetheless, it was definitely a great medley of tastes, very well balanced.

Reviews of Inside-Out Ravioli
Simply better then your usual speghetti. Blending the spinach children normally don't like with that pasta flavor they love.Simple household ingredients, reasonable time limit, and full bellies wanting more.I'd make this more then the french fry and hamburger my family loves.

Reviews of Pumpkin Sausage Pasta
This is fantastic!! I added a little more cream and some pasta water to it to make it a little more saucey. This is now my favorite dish ever!! I'll be sure to make it again! For me and my friends!!
