This picture by Jay Pedersen nicely shows how the Bubble-Tip Anemone gets it's name by forming a bulb at the tip of the tentacle. Although there is the Rose colored variety, this anemone primarily tends to be brown or greenish-brown in color, but often has bright green tentacles, which can be pink or purple tipped. Entacmaea quadricolor sea anemones are almost universally accepted by different Clownfish species, and therefore it is the best choice for most aquarists. Page 5.

Males are dark blue with orange markings and black above with large white spots. The Hawaiian form has fewer orange spots than those elsewhere.
